Painting
has been a part of my life as long as I can remember, having grown up with a
mother and grandmother who were both painters. Nothing thrilled me more as a
child than a brand new box of crayons and a clean piece of paper.
I still get the same thrill today when I begin a new watercolor. Hooked
on watercolor and loving to work on paper surface, I began searching for ways to
keep my work exciting. The process has evolved from purely transparent
watercolor to a combination of watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and torn paper
collages. As we live and move through life we change and are changed by those
around who help us weave the tapestry of our lives.
As I paint I am attempting to weave the subjects into the fabric around
them with the dark and bright threads linking together.
Art is not about the accurate depiction of a subject but of being able to
give the essence, allowing the viewer to follow the path to new discoveries.
It is my hope that you, the viewer, will be involved in its magic
